Job summary

Applied Technology Solutions, Inc. (ATS) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to drive the complete design lifecycle, from requirements through manufacturing and integration. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks and document designs to customer specs.

Join an interdisciplinary team and apply DFM, GD&T, and PDM workflows to deliver reliable components and assemblies. Strong communication and the ability to obtain security clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience creating 3D models and engineering drawings in SolidWorks.
• Experience designing components and large assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Experience using PDM systems for version control and design documentation.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations to support design decisions.
• GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical design lifecycle from requirements to manufacturing and system integration.
• Develop 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for components and large assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Apply DFM to designs considering manufacturing requirements and production considerations.
• Perform engineering calculations to evaluate design options and support technical decisions.
• Collaborate with analysts, systems engineers, designers, and manufacturing engineers.
• Apply GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Maintain design documentation and version control using PDM.
• Participate in design and peer reviews and incorporate feedback.
