Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to lead detailed mechanical designs of handling and process equipment for glass manufacturing. You will own the design, build, and debugging cycle and collaborate with vendor teams and internal specialists.

The role requires hands-on installation support, hands-on debugging at factory sites, and strong skills in SolidWorks and FEA, with travel up to 25%. BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• Experience with structural FEA analysis.
• Experience with design, install, start-up and debug.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal project team to understand design requirements.
• Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
• Responsible for installation and debug at factory site.
• Provide hands on input and insight into equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Verify equipment build and layout against drawings.
• Coordinate installation plan with safety and plant receivers.
• Confer with Corning engineers and vendors to resolve equipment install or build discrepancies.
• Travel up to 25% to supplier or vendor locations for checks.
