Job summary

Stryker, a leading medical technology company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and commercialize next-generation neurosurgical products. You will own mechanical subsystems, create drawings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to move concepts to launch.

This role requires 2+ years of design experience, GD&T expertise, and a hands-on approach to prototyping, verification, and design reviews within an R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components and modules for medical devices with increasing independence and ownership.
• Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and develop subsystem-level mechanical designs.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate design solutions to validate concepts, performance, and design improvements.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles and structured problem-solving to identify and resolve technical challenges throughout product development.
• Create and refine engineering documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and Design History File documentation in accordance with design control procedures.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes to support robust mechanical designs.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, testing, and verification activities as products progress through development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to drive project activities and deliverables forward.
