Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our Portage, MI area to join the R&D team and advance neurosurgical products.

You will design, develop, and verify mechanical components, translate inputs into specifications, build prototypes, and work with cross-functional partners to move concepts toward launch. This is a hybrid role with in-office days and remote work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience within medical device development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components and modules for medical devices.
• Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and develop subsystem-level designs.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate design solutions to validate concepts, performance, and design improvements.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles and structured problem-solving to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Create and refine engineering drawings, specifications, and Design History File documentation per design control procedures.
