Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for an established Machinery Manufacturing firm.

You will design, develop, and document custom machine systems and machine tool accessories using SolidWorks, manage BOMs, and work with suppliers across the product lifecycle. The role requires 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical design, strong manufacturing process knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Design of industrial machinery and machine tool accessories.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Experience creating BOMs and using ERP systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop layouts, assemblies, BOMs, and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Design machine components and mechanisms for systems.
• Prepare documentation including manuals and specs.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to procure parts.
• Test prototypes and support manufacturing feasibility.
• Travel ~10% to sites as needed.
