Senior Mechanical Design Engineer I (MEP) – Honolulu, HI (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design MEP systems to meet project specifications, budgets, building codes, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with architects, owners, and engineers to develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify risks and limitations.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for timely milestone completion and monitor project progress.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with plans and quality standards.
• Develop and implement quality assurance processes; conduct inspections and audits for compliance.
• Prepare and maintain project documents, including progress reports and meeting notes.
• Lead and mentor multi‑disciplinary project teams, promote effective communication and knowledge sharing.
• Serve as subject matter expert during project meetings and presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, preferably mechanical engineering or building services.
• 8+ years of proven experience in MEP design consulting in Hawaii.
• Advanced knowledge of building industry codes and standards.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred

• Licensed Professional Engineer
• LEED accreditation
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
