Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance the Scythe M.52 commercial mower. You will collaborate with EE, Firmware, Perception, Manufacturing, Test, and Field teams to deliver robust, reliable hardware.

The role demands hands-on design through production, addressing vibration, weather, dust, and heat in unstructured environments. You will own mechanical aspects from enclosure design to thermal management and BOM creation, while coordinating with vendors

Qualifications

• Experience designing complex electromechanical systems for unstructured environments and harsh conditions.
• Ability to drive designs through full lifecycle from concept to field maintenance.
• Strong cross-functional negotiation and collaboration across multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and fixtures for the M.52 mower.
• Own the mechanical side of electromechanical integration: electronics enclosures, heat management, battery packs, motors, cameras and sensors.
• Balance manufacturing cost, reliability and serviceability while meeting requirements from EE, Firmware, Perception, Manufacturing, Test and Field.
• Manage mechanical requirements and coordinate with vendors to source parts and develop custom components.
• Support rapid testing, ECO processes, and product data management.
