Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer in Boston, MA. You will drive end-to-end development of camera- and sensor-based systems, delivering manufacturable, reliable designs with a strong emphasis on thermal management and optics integration.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical design experience, proficiency with SolidWorks, and the ability to collaborate across hardware and software teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design, preferably with camera/sensor systems.
• Strong background in mechanical design for manufacturability and reliability.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies and drawings.
• Experience with thermal simulations and thermal management in product design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical products from concept through prototype for camera-focused and sensor-focused solutions.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks to support development and documentation.
• Apply thermal management principles and perform thermal simulations for reliable operation.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers for integrated mechanical/electrical/software components.
• Develop, document and manage mechanical design requirements to ensure performance and quality.
• Conduct design validation activities, including testing and tolerance analysis.
• Perform root cause analysis and structured problem solving to resolve issues.
• Incorporate design for manufacturability and assembly into all designs.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and test reports.
• Work independently to drive projects and meet deadlines.
