Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Sr to support an Integrated Air and Missile Defense program. You will create CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation for interceptors, launchers, and subassemblies, working with cross-functional teams to ensure design excellence and on-time delivery.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Engineering, solid GD&T knowledge, 3+ years in CREO, and be able to lead investigations and present status to IPT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and demonstrated knowledge of industry practices.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
• Ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision.
• Ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop CREO layouts and detailed model-based designs for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles.
• Build BOMs, create parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
• Coordinate with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, and structural/thermal/material analysts.
• Manage design releases, respond to CRs, generate CN's, and present/support change boards and design reviews.
• Perform design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits.
