Job summary

3D Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Wilsonville, OR, to contribute to the Multi-jet printer technology within a cross-functional team. The role emphasizes development of mechanical components, subsystems, and testing to advance additive manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in electro‑mechanical product design.
• Minimum of 3 years SolidWorks experience.
• Knowledge of low volume manufacturing processes, sheet metal, castings, injection molding, extrusions.
• Development of creative design solutions from inception to product introduction.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex problems in a multi-disciplinary team enabling launch of new 3D printers.
• Develop mechanical components and subsystems including specification, design, analysis and testing.
• Select configurations, materials and processes for reliable function at low cost.
• Validate design through analysis and testing; design test fixtures as needed.
• Document design and testing; track sub-assembly performance, schedule, reliability and cost targets.
