Job summary

BionicHIVE seeks a seasoned mechanical design engineer to drive concept-to-implementation of motorized mechanisms and battery-operated devices. You will define requirements, produce drawings, and lead lab verifications while performing hands-on assembly and testing.

The role emphasizes design for manufacturability, cost, performance, and safety, with onsite production support and strong cross-functional collaboration in multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• B.A. mechanical engineering is required.
• 8+ years of experience in motorized mechanisms and battery-operated devices.
• Experience with actuated mechanisms for multidisciplinary products.
• Self-learner, organized, independent and enthusiastic about mechanics.
• End-to-end task management including requirement definitions.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.

• Mechanical design from concept to implementation including definition of requirements, research and investigation, design, testing etc.
• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, define and perform lab tests for verification and conformance of design outputs to meet the design inputs
• Hands-on assembly, integration and testing
• Design for functionality, manufacturability, cost, performance and safety standards
• Support manufacturers during production, including onsite

Requirements

• B.A. mechanical engineering
• 8+ years of experience in developing motorized mechanisms and battery-operated devices
• Experience in design of actuated mechanisms for multidisciplinary products
• Self-learner, enthusiastic about mechanics, multi-tasker, organized, and independent
• End-to-end task management including requirement definitions
• Creative, with an analytical mindset, team-player and with great communication skills
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office
• Great verbal and writing skills. Fluent in English

Preferred

• Experience in mechanical design of gearing systems, motorized mechanisms, battery operated devices
• Mechanics enthusiastic person with Hand-on experience, understanding in manufacturing processes
• Research, develop and build prototypes, run tests to measure their level of function and evaluate testing data
