Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Sturtevant, WI

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $90-110K yrly

Must have: Machine Design or Industrial Equipment Design

Misc: This role is 100% on-site

General Summary:

This role is responsible for generating sound concepts to solve challenges in the design, manufacturing, deployment, and continuous improvement of dry products packaging machines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand machine requirements through project kick-off activities, interfacing with the customer, the design envelope, manufacturing process and material capabilities, tolerance stack-up conditions, styling goals, and how these drive every surface and feature of every part.
• Create mathematically verified concepts to resolve packaging challenges.
• Evaluate and select components for the products.
• Assess material, stress/strain, vibration constraints affecting design and provide this information to teammates.
• Redesign standard products or expand product lines to improve quality and productivity while reducing costs.
• Design new or specialized integrations/modifications according to specifications related to size, capacities, performance, or other requirements.

Education and Experience/Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7-10 years of experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault or similar software.
• Ability to create detailed 3D and 2D drawings for complex and precise designs using Autodesk Inventor.
• Proven capability to select appropriate materials, finishes, processes, and design concepts to meet customer performance, durability, reliability, and cost targets.
