Role Description

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Carson City, NV. This position is responsible for leading mechanical design projects from concept through production, including requirements analysis, detailed design, prototyping, and validation. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, performing engineering calculations, and developing machine and product designs that meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and procurement to resolve technical issues and optimize designs for cost and reliability. Additional duties include mentoring junior engineers, participating in design reviews, and supporting continuous improvement of design standards and processes.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to lead complex design projects and make sound technical decisions.
  • Proficiency in Machine Design and Product Design, including experience with mechanisms, materials selection, and design for manufacturability and safety.
  • Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar), including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and tolerance analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Several years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably in safety-critical or industrial applications.
  • Ability to interpret engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements relevant to product safety and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work on-site in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation methods; familiarity with FEA or other analysis tools is a plus.
