Job description

A Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead complex mechanical engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance ISR, aviation and security solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects.
  • Provide expert guidance on design and development of mechanical systems.
  • Perform high‑level analyses and simulations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers on mechanical engineering practices.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related role; higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Expert understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in a related field.
  • Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of engineering simulation such as Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Thermal Analysis.
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Knowledge of industrial‑standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for components used in aircraft and space applications.
  • Experience providing technical guidance to diverse team on mechanical engineering issues.
  • Experience with manufacturing, production, and product support, including disposition of engineering non‑conformances.
  • Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Apply systematic and logical problem‑solving techniques to develop mechanical designs.
  • Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Ability to understand technical documents, designs, and test reports.
Security Clearance

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Only citizens can be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
