Job summary

Ajulia Executive Search is recruiting a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee modular systems, HVAC architecture, airflow, piping layouts, and durable structural assemblies optimized for manufacturability.

You will plan and manage engineering efforts across multiple projects, conduct design and safety reviews, and collaborate with vendors to support project execution from inception to field deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Mechanical design experience in manufacturing or industrial product development, ideally within modular, utility, or data-center environments.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, piping/fluid systems, sheet metal and weldments, material selection, dynamic analysis, and integrated controls.
  • Proficient with 2D/3D CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical), PLM/PDM systems, and advanced GD&T and drafting standards.
  • Hands-on validation testing, commissioning, field support, and familiarity with FEA/CFD workflows and test correlation.
  • Solid knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASHRAE, AMCA, ASME, ASTM, AWS) and strong applied engineering and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design for modular systems, including HVAC architecture, airflow/thermal solutions, piping layouts, and structural assemblies optimized for manufacturability and durability.
  • Develop engineering documentation such as models, drawings, specifications, calculation packages, and test plans while maintaining strong configuration control and PLM/PDM accuracy.
  • Plan and manage engineering activities across multiple projects, conduct design and safety reviews, and integrate feedback to improve constructability and performance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on technical evaluations, RFQs, submittal reviews, and make-versus-buy decisions to support project execution.
  • Support manufacturing, testing, and field activities by resolving build issues, executing FAT/SAT and commissioning procedures, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
