Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA seeks a Mechanical Definition Engineer to translate customer sales and program requirements into actionable engineering deliverables within the Completions Engineering organization.

You will lead build lists, CTS tasking, requirements tracking, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and downstream operations to ensure aircraft configurations are executed. Strong communication and multi-tasking across aerospace programs are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Engineering Technology or related field.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, aircraft completions, or product definition activities.
• Working knowledge of engineering documentation and configuration management principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in an engineering environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Translate customer sales requirements into actionable design deliverables.
• Develop and maintain Preliminary Build Lists and Initial Build Lists.
• Create and manage preliminary aircraft tasking and engineering work packages.
• Coordinate with Design Engineering to define technical requirements.
• Facilitate communication between Completions Engineering, Baseline Engineering, Configuration Management, and program leadership.
• Develop, maintain, and verify Requirements Verification Matrices (RVMs).
• Generate CTS tasking to support aircraft design activities.
• Participate in PDR, EDR, PR, and Definition Hand-Off meetings.
• Support configuration definition activities using SmarTeam and related systems.
• Monitor deliverables for alignment with requirements, schedules, and baselines.
• Conduct root cause and corrective analysis for definition discrepancies and build issues.
• Partner with Configuration Management to maintain product definition integrity via BLCR processing.
• Support process improvements in engineering workflows and requirements management.
• Provide status updates to engineering leadership.
