Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation seeks an experienced Superintendent—Mechanical Mining Construction to lead the mechanical construction for leach plant expansions, paste plant and surface facilities on a major gold project.

The role requires 15+ years in mining construction, with 5+ years in a senior position, and a hands-on, safety‑driven leader able to manage contractors and coordinate with engineers and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with surface facilities for a hard rock operation.
• 15+ years’ relevant experience, of which 5+ years in a senior construction role.
• Experience with start-up projects and operating environments.
• Engineering or related discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical).
• MSHA 40 HR trained or past MSHA training.
• Strong dispute resolution and project delivery management.
• Excellent planning, organizing and prioritization abilities.
• A hands-on leader with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction of leach plant circuit expansion, paste plant and surface facilities.
• Coordinate with project manager, engineers and subcontractors to meet schedules and quality.
• Oversee safety, quality and environmental practices on site.
• Support start-up and operation teams with technical handovers.
• Ensure cost control, tool control and asset care for on-site activities.
• Lead change orders, progress reporting and closeout activities.
