Diamond Peak Recruiting partners with a well-established mechanical contractor in Detroit to fill a Mechanical Construction Project Manager role overseeing HVAC, piping and plumbing on commercial and industrial projects.

This position is ideal for a true mechanical construction professional who can manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and multiple project priorities through preconstruction to closeout, delivering technically challenging work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Construction Project Manager.
• Strong background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
• Experience delivering projects $2M+ in value.
• Exposure to commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Mechanical contractor experience (not facilities or service-only roles).

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from award through closeout.
• Oversee HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes on commercial and industrial jobs.
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and GC partners.
• Manage budgets, schedules, change orders, and cost forecasting.
• Lead submittals, RFIs, buyout, and material procurement.
• Support project execution with strong field awareness and communication.
