Job summary

FST Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead commissioning on large-scale data center projects. The role demands field leadership, design-to-execution oversight, and capacity to drive outcomes across complex mechanical systems.

The position is based in Atlanta, GA or Detroit, MI with travel to project sites; mobilization and per diem are provided. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a background in HVACR, controls, and BIM

Qualifications

• Degree in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Data center experience required.
• 7+ years experience or 3+ years commissioning.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle.
• Execute functional testing, witness testing, and system validation.
• Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Lead meetings and communicate findings with clients and contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and support training.
