Job summary

HYVE Solutions, a TD SYNNEX subsidiary, seeks a senior Mechanical Architect to lead the design of rack, server, and enclosure systems for enterprise IT infrastructure. The role emphasizes thermal management, manufacturability, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

With 10+ years in mechanical design, you will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with product teams. Located in Oregon, the role supports ongoing innovation in data center solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and architecture for rack/server/enclosure systems.
• Expertise in 3D CAD tools and creating complex assemblies/drawings.
• Extensive FEA and CFD experience for thermal and structural analysis.
• Deep knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, die casting and machining.
• Strong understanding of rack standards (EIA-310) and safety.
• Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with DFM/DFA and PLM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural definition and detailed design of mechanical systems for racks, servers, storage, and networking enclosures.
• Develop robust designs meeting performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability goals.
• Perform advanced thermal and structural analyses using CAE tools to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and product management to integrate components.
• Define and review mechanical specs, test plans, and validation procedures for prototypes and production units.
• Mentor junior mechanical engineers and conduct design reviews.
• Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes for various components.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor offerings in data center IT infrastructure.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Support supplier selection and qualification for manufactured parts.
