Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services in Odessa, TX seeks an experienced Mechanic IV to disassemble, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex natural gas engine and compressor equipment. You will work with minimal oversight and apply engineering specs to ensure top performance.

You bring 8+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical test and heavy equipment repair, with the ability to read drawings and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Skilled at interpreting drawings, prints, and engineering specifications.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and stay active through a full shift.
• Valid driver's license.
• Solid basic math skills and the ability to read schematics.
• Well-versed in safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as production requires.
• A team player who can also run independently against engineering specs, with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex natural gas engine and compressor equipment.
• Use a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment for disassembly, assembly, and testing tasks.
• Set up and run test operations against engineering specifications, and troubleshoot issues that come up.
• Conduct risk assessments before operations and material movements.
• Perform minor maintenance and keep facility equipment and tooling operational, efficient, and safe.
• Identify and report problems or hazardous conditions during equipment operations.
• Complete required documentation and business training accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment and follow all EHS policies.
