Job summary

Radius Recycling is seeking a Mechanic II to repair and maintain heavy machinery and equipment in a yard environment. You will diagnose faults, read manuals, and ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.

The role requires hands-on expertise, the ability to work independently, and a focus on safe, efficient operations within a dynamic scrap-yard setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience assisting skilled trades in heavy equipment repair.
• Associates degree in Heavy Duty Truck or Heavy Equipment Repair with 2 years experience may be considered.
• Must possess valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
• Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify repairs.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using engine diagnostic equipment and calibration devices.
• Provide assistance throughout the yard as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
