Job summary

Software Mind, a multicultural team of engineers, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable MEAN stack applications. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and lead modernization efforts including RESTful APIs and data integration with Power BI.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, data analytics support, and adherence to security standards while delivering high-performance software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 6-10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, and Node.js).
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong experience developing backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• In-depth knowledge of MongoDB and an understanding of transitioning from MongoDB to Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including database schema design, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, semantic models, dashboards, reporting, or data visualization.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, unit testing, and code optimization.
• Proven experience delivering complex software projects and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications using the MEAN stack.
• Provide technical guidance on coding standards, architectural patterns, unit testing, and development best practices.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and refine software architecture.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Lead complex code refactoring, application modernization, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions and support their implementation.
• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Support database development and modernization initiatives involving MongoDB and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Collaborate with data and business teams to support reporting, analytics, and data integration solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve software scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Ensure adherence to security standards, company policies, and HIPAA/PHI compliance requirements.
