Job summary

MEALS ON WHEELS SAC COUNTY is seeking a reliable Home-Delivered Meals Driver to deliver meals and program materials to senior participants. You will follow assigned routes, verify meal counts, and gather signatures as needed while building rapport with clients.

Under supervision, you will perform safety checks, maintain precise records, and ensure food safety throughout the delivery process. A valid California Class C license and clean driving history are required; experience with older adults

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or GED.
Two years’ experience as a delivery driver.
Ability to read and understand street maps and use electronic navigation systems.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred.
Prior experience working with older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver meals and program related supplies to participants in a timely, courteous and friendly manner.
Assemble, load meals for assigned routes and verify counts.
Conduct safety checks during each meal delivery and monitor participants’ safety and well-being.
Maintain assigned vehicle(s) according to fleet procedures.
Maintain confidential participant records pursuant to HIPAA compliance and agency requirements.
Participate in in-services, team meetings and other requested meetings.
Report any concern or unusual observations to the Home-Delivered Meals Program Specialist.
Ensure proper food safety procedures are maintained at all times.
