Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer in Seattle to lead model-based systems engineering efforts. You will own the digital twin development, define system requirements in SysML, and drive rapid verification within a cross-functional team across hardware, software, and test disciplines.

You will mentor engineers, advance MBSE practices, and push for agile, iterative workflows while ensuring scalable, verifiable design for space infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex, multidisciplinary systems (e.g., aerospace, automotive, robotics, or data centers).
• Demonstrated MBSE expertise and hands-on experience.
• Experience in fast, iterative hardware-centric development environments.
• Strong requirements analysis, interface management, system integration, and verification.
• Ability to lead technical projects and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience bringing a commercialized product to market.
• Experience through a full program lifecycle from design to verification and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maturation of the system's digital twin using MBSE.
• Define, manage, and allocate system requirements, interfaces, and behaviors in a system model (SysML).
• Facilitate and lead systems engineering execution with rapid verification and lessons learned.
• Drive system-level trade studies using model-based simulations for fast design decisions.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, integration, and test teams to maintain alignment.
• Define the V&V strategy within a model-based framework, linking tests to model elements.
• Develop and implement new MBSE processes and tools to increase velocity.
• Mentor engineers on MBSE best practices and agile systems engineering.
