Job summary

Shannon & Wilson is seeking a Senior Materials Testing Technician to oversee field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt and related materials on CDOT projects. You will serve as a technical resource for engineers, project managers, and junior technicians while ensuring compliance with standards and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of materials testing experience, multiple accreditations, and the ability to travel between Shannon & Wilson offices and field

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of construction materials testing experience.
• Accreditations in soils, concrete, and asphalt required (WAQTC, ACI, CAPA).
• Ability to travel to support multiple Shannon & Wilson offices and field sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, grout and related materials.
• Prepare accurate field reports, test results, observations, calculations, sketches, and photos.
• Interpret project specifications and testing requirements.
• Coordinate testing schedules across active projects and mentor technicians.
• Maintain equipment, calibration records and QA documentation.
