Job summary

Hybron in El Segundo is seeking a Materials & Process engineer to bridge chemistry and manufacturing for high-performance composites. You will move between lab bench and production floor, guiding material selection, formulation changes, and process development to scale Hybron’s fiber-reinforced composites.

You’ll run material characterization tests (TGA, DMA, DSC, rheology), design experiments, and work with suppliers to qualify new materials, while building lab SOPs and scalable testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with strong chemistry background.
• Experience in materials science and process optimization.
• Ability to design and execute material characterization and mechanical testing.

Responsibilities

• Connect material chemistries to process-structure-property relationships in Hybron’s composites.
• Guide material selection, formulation changes, and process development for aerospace/defense needs.
• Run and interpret material characterization tests (TGA, DMA, DSC, rheology) and mechanical coupons.
• Collaborate with suppliers and build lab SOPs and testing protocols for scale.
