Job summary

Hybron in Hawthorne, CA is offering a full-time, in-person engineering internship of at least 10 weeks. You will work across several tasks related to our advanced composites manufacturing process, with one or more major projects assigned, including design, layup, tooling, and machine operation.

Ideal candidates are U.S. students or recent grads, have basic manufacturing experience, CAD familiarity, and a bias for rapid prototyping.

Qualifications

• US person status under EAR/ITAR required.
• Currently enrolled or recently graduated; Summer 2027 eligible.
• Basic experience with manufacturing parts across materials.
• Rapid prototyping mindset with action-oriented approach.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and tolerance composite parts and tooling for a specific application.
• Prepare & lay up raw composite materials and fabricate & process parts.
• Operate, set up, and maintain machines (presses, CNC, 3D printers).
• Perform mechanical, non-destructive, and destructive testing with measurement tools.
• Design and execute experiments for materials and processes.
• Assist in building automated systems and robots for manufacturing.
