Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a Materials and Process Engineer to support development and production of advanced composite solutions for next generation air vehicle designs. You will evaluate materials, lead process development, and support manufacturing with failure investigations.

Responsibilities include qualification planning, collaboration with vendors, and sustaining manufacturing improvements to reduce cost and improve quality, while maintaining DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor degree or higher in engineering with 4+ years of experience (bachelor) or 2+ years (master).
• Strong technical engineering principles and ability to lead workloads to milestones.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate composite materials and processes through tests and trials.
• Lead process development activities for new programs.
• Support development of advanced composite hardware and vehicle designs.
• Support manufacturing with material-related failure investigations.
• Develop and execute composite material qualification plans.
