Job summary

Divergent in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Materials & Process Engineer to accelerate qualification of new manufacturing processes through first principles materials engineering and robust testing.

You will lead SME work on L-PBF alloy metallurgical evaluation, define qualification test plans, develop material specifications, and collaborate with IPTs to deliver new products while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of material qualifications experience.
• Experience with aerospace/defense requirements AMS, ASTM, MIL.

Responsibilities

• SME in L-PBF evaluation and microstructure characterization.
• Define material qualification test plans and material allowables.
• Develop and qualify new materials and manufacturing processes.
• Write and maintain material specifications for materials, processes, and testing.
• Lead root cause investigations and quality monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with IPTs on development and delivery of new products.
• Support component design to meet customer material requirements.
