Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Materials Planner in the United States to coordinate material, production, assembly, and test plans aligned with demand and AOP targets. You will manage material requirements, ensure ERP/SAP data integrity, and optimize inventory and service levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required.
  • 3+ years in materials management, production planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient with ERP/SAP systems and advanced planning tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • CPIM certification is valued.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure valued.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute integrated material, production, assembly, and test plans aligned with demand, backlog, and AOP targets.
  • Analyze material requirements and ensure timely component and resource availability for production and testing.
  • Maintain material master data accuracy, planning parameters, and ERP/SAP integrity.
  • Support PFEP, stocking, and replenishment strategies to optimize inventory and service levels.
  • Create detailed assembly and test plans coordinating labor, equipment, tooling, and materials.
  • Monitor production, assembly, and test execution to identify gaps and risks.
  • Investigate and resolve material constraints and manufacturing issues; recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Strategic Sourcing on NPI, transitions, and design changes.
  • Analyze MOQ, EOQ, and lot-sizing with sourcing to resolve variances.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives across materials and operations.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on materials status, production performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Provide process guidance and training to planning, assembly, and test staff as needed.
  • Support supply chain planning and execution, manage materials planning, and resolve issues.
  • Report directly to the Planning Manager.

  • Analyze MOQ, EOQ, and lot-sizing parameters and work with sourcing teams to resolve variances

  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives across materials and operations

  • Prepare and maintain reports and metrics related to materials status, production performance, and schedule adherence

  • Provide process guidance and training support to planning, assembly, and test personnel as needed

  • Support and improve the supply chain planning and execution process, manage materials planning, and resolve supply chain issues

  • Report directly to the Planning Manager



Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in materials management, production planning, or manufacturing operations

  • Proficiency with ERP/SAP systems and advanced planning tools

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities

  • CPIM or similar supply chain certification (valued)

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (valued)

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
