Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (CT) is seeking a seasoned Material/Inventory Planner to support inventory levels and drive data-driven decisions. You will plan demand, forecast replenishment, and manage high-volume SKUs across multiple locations with varied lead times.

The role emphasizes optimizing stocking levels, developing commodity plans, and providing actionable purchasing recommendations. Strong data analysis, Excel and Power BI skills are required, with CPIM certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of related work experience as a Material/Inventory Planner required.
  • Understanding of business, financial and inventory management principles.
  • Understanding of benchmarking, supply chain best practices and process improvement best practices.
  • Ability to provide insight and recommendations on stocking strategy, stocking levels, replenishment cycle and reorder quantities.
  • Proficient in mining data to enhance material commodity plans and support decisions.
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts and processes to maximize material control and maintain a healthy inventory profile.
  • Multi-SKU, high-volume SKU count preferred.
  • Multi-location management preferred.
  • Microsoft Office and Excel mandatory.
  • Power BI experience preferred.
  • CPIM certification preferred.
  • Must be able to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and up to five days in the office if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain material commodity plans to support inventory levels.
  • Perform demand planning, supply planning and replenishment analysis.
  • Manage high-volume SKU inventories across multiple locations with complex lead times and supply channels.
  • Maintain optimal stocking levels while limiting excess materials.
  • Support development and implementation of detailed material commodity plans.
  • Analyze material demand, supply demand and replenishment requirements.
  • Provide material purchasing recommendations based on commodity plans and analysis.
  • Develop reports, metrics, tracking tools and spreadsheets to support material decisions.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external business partner relationships.
  • Communicate metrics, analytics and initiatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and build reporting to identify opportunities and drive future decisions.
  • Respond to emergency situations and potentially assist outside normal responsibilities, work hours and location
