Job summary

Wurth Industry US is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support efficient, cost-effective operations.

This role will coordinate with production, manage procurement lead times, and ensure materials are available on schedule. The position requires leading a large team, implementing best practices, and driving inventory optimization across multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management or logistics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
• Certification in supply chain management (APICS, CPSM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee storage, handling, and distribution of materials to align with production needs.
• Maintain procurement system settings (lead times, order quantities, reorder points).
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels to control costs.
• Lead and manage a large team, including hiring, performance reviews, and budgeting.
• Foster a collaborative workplace aligned with Wurth principles.
• Implement staff training and onboarding programs.
• Plan workforce, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational needs.
• Reduce stockouts and optimize inventory turnover.
• Ensure materials are properly kitted and ready for production.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align material availability with project timelines.
