Job summary

Wurth Industry USA is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support efficient, cost-effective operations across our facilities. You will manage inventory levels, lead procurement settings, and coordinate with production, ensuring parts are available on time.

This role also involves supervising a large team and driving continuous improvement in stock control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of materials management, supply chain, or logistics experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and ERP software.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices; SCM certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee storage, handling, and distribution of materials to align with production needs and goals.
• Maintain procurement system settings, including lead times, order quantities, and reorder points.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize costs and availability.
• Direct and motivate a large team; manage performance, pay reviews, and budgets.
• Lead workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet requirements.
• Implement training programs and onboarding for staff.
• Oversee production planners to ensure materials are properly kitted and ready.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication to align material availability with timelines.
• Analyze material needs with forecasting to adjust procurement strategies.
• Track material usage and procurement costs to inform decisions.
