Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. seeks an experienced Materials/Metallurgical Engineer to lead forensic failure analyses and mentor staff in Kansas City. You will oversee lab work, review literature, and communicate clear findings to clients and colleagues.

The role requires 5–10 years in materials/metallurgical research or related fields; a Master’s/Ph.D. is preferred. PE license or willingness to obtain is desirable; some travel and deposition/testimony may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science preferred.
  • PE license is preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • CWI/CQE/API certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic, root cause failure analysis in various projects as part of a team.
  • Write technical reports and present findings to clients and colleagues.
  • Review literature and reports to inform analyses.
  • Coordinate lab activities and supervise staff to ensure quality.
  • Travel as needed for project work and development events.
