SpaceX seeks a Sr. Materials Engineer for Blades and Vanes Foundry to lead materials research on Ni-based superalloys used in gas turbine castings. You will partner with foundry, design and process teams to optimize casting, quality, and performance across SX/DS/ EQ components.

You will conduct thorough metallographic characterization, analyze failures, and develop test plans to drive improvements while working in a fast-moving, high-production environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in material science, materials engineering, weld engineering, metallurgical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience working in metal casting technologies.
• 5+ years of professional experience with SX or DS casting technologies using Ni-based superalloys.
• Experience with blades and vanes in gas turbines or aerospace engines.
• 3+ years of metallographic characterization experience (SEM-EDS, optical microscopy, hardness testing).
