Job summary
Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to sustain and advance propulsion-related metal systems. You will work across production and development, supporting materials selection, testing, and specification creation to enable next-generation engines.
A lab ecosystem will be built to tackle design and test challenges with advanced metals and additive manufacturing. Requirements include a Materials Engineering degree and 5+ years in aerospace metals, with knowledge of nickel, aluminum,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering is required.
- 5+ years in metals materials engineering roles in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with reflectory metals, ceramic, ablative composite, and graphite materials.
- Experience with forgings, additive, wrought product.
- Experience with materials data analysis per MMPDS.
- Experience with nickel-based, stainless steel, aluminum and titanium alloys.
Responsibilities
- Support design and manufacturing through materials selection, failure analysis, process development, and discrepancy resolution.
- Author and maintain materials standards and specifications.
- Coordinate and conduct materials testing for development and production.
