SFM Mutual Insurance Company in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Sr. Marketing Underwriter Rep for the Large Accounts team. Join a multi-functional group handling new and existing relationships with agents to grow a profitable workers' compensation portfolio over $200,000 written premium.

You’ll manage renewals, evaluate new business, and deploy effective account strategies while traveling occasionaly. This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business, or related field.
• 5+ years underwriting or marketing experience in workers’ compensation.
• Professional designations (CPCU, ARM) a plus.
• Strong marketing and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of state workers’ compensation rules.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and develops new business activity and uses creative thinking to market SFM to agents and producers. Manages the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Maintains and is responsible for entire underwriting book of business to achieve premium volume and loss ratios consistent with company goals and objectives and supports the appointment of new agencies.
• Fosters and maintains relationships with external partners by regularly meeting in person with agents and brokers to establish marketing plan goals, and communicate company philosophy, procedures and service capabilities with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with company goals.
• Provides premier customer service to all customers and complies with customer service standards and collaborates with internal business partners to achieve company goals. May assist in training new or less experienced team members.
• Identifies and communicates trending underwriting practices that could impact the team’s book of business.

About the Role

Your book of business will be accounts that have a written premium of at least $200,000. This role will work with internal and external partners to deliver best in class performance. You will be responsible for the entire book of large market business which includes renewals, evaluating new business, and deploying effective account management strategies. Much of your attention will be directed at sustaining SFM’s reputation as an insurer of choice as well as growing the book of business. Developing and maintaining agency/broker relationships is key to achieving success along with meeting new business goals, as is retention of renewals. What We'll Like About You

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business or related field or equivalent work experience
• Five or more years underwriting experience in workers’ compensation and/or casualty Insurance, workers’ compensation or commercial multi-line product line, or applicable agency experience.
• Professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM) a plus.
• Proven marketing and presentation skills
• Strong working knowledge of state applicable Workers’ Compensation rules and regulations.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver superior customer service.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented
• Able to travel with occasional overnights.
• Valid driver’s license.
