McLean, Virginia, USA | Work Model: In Person - Headquartered at Appian's McLean campus

Serve as the primary engine for business intelligence within Appian's global marketing operations organization, transforming complex data into strategic insights that fuel AI-Powered Process Automation growth.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Marketing Operations team owns the critical infrastructure that powers Appian's marketing engine: tools and technology, lead routing and scoring, analytics and attribution, and budget stewardship. This team operates with autonomy and cross-functional influence, partnering with demand generation, field marketing, product marketing, and executive leadership to ensure every marketing investment is measurable, optimized, and aligned to revenue outcomes. Your work will directly shape how Appian scales its presence in the enterprise automation market.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Appian is accelerating its leadership in AI-Powered Process Automation, and marketing's ability to demonstrate ROI and optimize campaigns in real-time is mission-critical. This role exists because our growth demands sophisticated attribution models, executive-grade dashboards, and a trusted analytics partner who can cut through noise and deliver clarity. You will have the rare opportunity to build the data foundation for a high-growth B2B technology company while working alongside world-class marketers and technologists who value precision and impact.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Architect and maintain single source of truth dashboards in our BI tool that enable marketing leadership to monitor performance, forecast pipeline, and allocate budget with confidence
  • Translate complex multi-touch attribution datasets into compelling executive-ready narratives that inform strategic decision-making and quarterly business reviews
  • Execute advanced SQL queries to extract, transform, and synthesize data from Salesforce CRM, Marketo, and other marketing technology platforms into actionable insights
  • Lead the triage and delivery of ad hoc analytics requests, balancing urgency with rigor to ensure stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and contextually relevant analysis
  • Drive organizational enablement by training marketing team members on dashboard usage, data interpretation, and self-service analytics capabilities
  • Collaborate with IT, RevOps, and finance teams to ensure data integrity, governance, and alignment across enterprise reporting systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis within B2B technology or SaaS environments
  • Advanced expertise in business intelligence and dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker with a proven track record of building executive-facing reports
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and data extraction methodologies to query relational databases and manipulate large datasets
  • Deep familiarity with B2B marketing platforms and CRM environments, including hands-on experience with Marketo and Salesforce
  • Proven ability to translate complex datasets into compelling, executive-ready presentations and strategic recommendations that drive business outcomes
  • Detail-oriented, inquisitive, and collaborative attitude with demonstrated experience navigating multinational B2B technology organizations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with long, complex B2B sales cycles and the multi-touch attribution models that accompany enterprise buying journeys
  • Proficiency with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 or Adobe Analytics
  • Hands-on experience with third-party marketing analytics and attribution tools such as HockeyStack, Marketo Measure, DreamData, or similar platforms
  • We value experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow, as these skills translate well into our Enterprise-Grade Orchestration environment.
