Job summary

Confidential Employer in Austin, TX seeks a hands-on Marketing Lead to build the marketing function for a fast-growing defense tech company. You will own video, social, digital, print, trade shows, events, and brand across channels, reporting to founders and engineers.

You will craft clear customer messaging, manage external partners, and drive campaigns end-to-end, including on-site booth presence. Equity plus benefits offered; travel required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of B2B marketing experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, hardware, or deep tech.
  • Hands-on experience producing or editing video and creating social content.
  • Proven experience briefing and managing agencies, freelancers, production partners, or other external creatives.
  • Strong written voice with the ability to translate technical products into clear, engaging customer-facing messaging.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping actual campaigns, content, or creative assets, supported by a portfolio or work samples.
  • Strong day-to-day fluency with AI tools for research, drafting, editing, creative iteration, and production.
  • Comfort working across web and landing pages, events, booth collateral, content calendars, assets, and campaign deadlines.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Austin, TX.
  • Ability to travel for events, demonstrations, customer meetings, and partner activities as needed.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology and controlled messaging.
  • Experience marketing autonomy, robotics, aerospace, or defense technologies is preferred.
  • Direct ownership of trade-show booths, field demonstrations, or vendor rosters is preferred.
  • Experience working directly with founders or technical leaders is preferred.

Location:

Austin, TX. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for someone who wants to work closely with founders, engineers, and technical leaders in a fast-moving environment. Travel is required for industry events, demonstrations, customer meetings, and partner activities as needed.

Must have 3+ years of B2B marketing experience within defense, aerospace, robotics, hardware, or deep tech, plus hands-on experience personally creating or editing video and managing social content. Candidates must also be able to work full-time on-site in Austin, travel as needed, provide a portfolio or work samples showing shipped campaigns or creative assets, and qualify as a U.S. person for work involving export-controlled technology.
