Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Primary Market Research to uncover customer, market, and competitive insights across U.S. and Global oncology markets. You will design, execute, and apply primary research and integrate secondary data sources to inform commercial decisions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and explore AI-enabled tools to enhance insights and business impact in a fast-paced setting. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in market research, analytics, marketing, sales, finance, forecasting or related commercial functions.
• Foundational knowledge of quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies and design.
• Ability to translate business questions into research objectives and actionable insights.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare environment preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Framing business questions and identifying information needs to support commercial strategy and decision-making.
• Developing research and analysis plans aligned with business objectives.
• Drafting briefs, RFPs, and hypotheses to be tested.
• Supporting the identification and selection of external research partners.
• Managing market research projects from design through execution and insight delivery.
• Applying qualitative and quantitative methodologies and innovative approaches when appropriate.
• Synthesizing data and insights into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Communicating insights effectively to influence stakeholders.
