Coinbase is seeking a Senior Data Engineer, Market Data on the Institutional Markets team. You will build and operate low-latency market data systems, including feed handlers and distribution layers, to support trading across Coinbase's platform.

You will design high-throughput services, drive reliability with observability and incident response, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver market data capabilities that power the institutional trading roadmap.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience with low-latency systems.
• Hands-on in market data infrastructure areas (feed handlers, normalization, or distribution).
• Proficiency in Java or C++ and low-latency/high-throughput messaging frameworks.
• Familiarity with venue/exchange connectivity and market data protocols.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain market data components (feed handlers, normalization, distribution, venue connectivity).
• Design low-latency services for real-time market data used by trading systems.
• Improve reliability through observability, on-call participation, and incident response.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and shape engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to enable market data roadmap.
