Job summary

Novum Energy seeks an experienced trading analytics professional to support trading, risk management, and operations through advanced analytics and predictive modeling.

You will analyze positions, exposures, P&L, pricing, and hedging strategies, partnering with traders and support functions to identify automation opportunities and translate business requirements into scalable data solutions that drive decisions and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, mathematics, economics, or related field.
• 7+ years in trading analytics, commodity markets, or risk management.
• Strong analytical capabilities in forecasting, market intelligence, and quantitative modeling.

Job description

• Use advanced analytics to support trading, risk management, and operational workflows and to improve decision-making, uncover market opportunities, and drive business performance.
• Analyze trading positions, market exposures, mark-to-market profit and loss, pricing dynamics, forward curves, and hedging strategies to identify risks, optimize trading performance, and support commercial decision-making.
• Partner with traders, risk management, operations, and support functions to identify strategic opportunities for automation, translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, and enable successful adoption across the organization.
• Develop predictive models, advanced dashboards, and data-driven analytics leveraging structured and unstructured data to forecast supply and demand balances, monitor market conditions, and support strategic planning.
• Generate market intelligence and decision-support analytics through data synthesis, and automated reporting to explain market movements, profit and loss drivers, and emerging trends.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science or other energy-related fields.
• 7+ years of experience in trading analytics, commodity markets, or risk management, including data-driven solutions to support trading, forecasting, decision-making, and process optimization.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in trading analytics, market intelligence, forecasting, and quantitative modeling.
• Experience developing dashboards, data visualizations, and decision-support tools using structured and unstructured data.
• Expertise in Trading and Risk Management System (Allegro preferred).
• Must have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently and without supervision, ensuring deadlines are strictly adhered to in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed to support global operations on an ad-hoc basis.
