Florida Power & Light Company seeks a Market & System Analysis Senior Analyst to develop and apply analytical models for reliability, planning, and market opportunities, supporting EMT and other business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large datasets and complex analytical models.
• Strong understanding of electric power systems, generation planning, resource adequacy, reliability analysis, and energy markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate complex analytical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Supports the implementation, validation, and ongoing use of SERVM, including development and maintenance of model inputs, assumptions, methodologies, and documentation.
• Performs probabilistic resource adequacy and reliability studies; analyze metrics such as LOLE, LOLH, EUE, ELCC, and Planning Reserve Margin; and evaluate uncertainty related to weather, load, outages, renewable generation, and other system conditions.
• Conducts quantitative analyses and planning studies to evaluate the reliability, operational, and economic impacts of generation additions and retirements, energy storage, renewable resources, load growth, transmission limitations, and wholesale energy transactions.
• Analyze large and complex datasets and model outputs, perform sensitivity and statistical analyses, investigate unexpected results, and identify key drivers and insights to support planning and business decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants, and software vendors to improve analytical methodologies and tools, and clearly communicate study results, conclusions, and recommendations to technical and management audiences.
