Job summary

Spear AI is seeking a senior signal processing engineer to develop and deploy detection, estimation, and array processing algorithms for maritime sensor products. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and data teams, field-testing on water and at sea, and work with an acoustician to accelerate ocean knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, applied physics, applied mathematics, or related field with signal processing emphasis.
Deep command of detection/estimation fundamentals and array processing.
Strong implementation ability in Python and C++ on real data.

Responsibilities

Develop, characterize, and defend detection/estimation algorithms for weak signals in nonstationary noise.
Design and implement beamforming and spatial filtering for multi-element arrays.
Take algorithms from prototype to deployed code with real constraints on compute, memory, and power.
Build models and synthetic data to develop and stress algorithms before hardware exists.
