Job summary

STR’s Maritime Domain Applications Group seeks a Senior Scientist to advance sensing concepts and adaptive signal processing for real-world systems. You will help develop new algorithms, model complex environments, and translate prototypes into efficient software for fielded systems.

The role requires strong mathematical, analytical, and programming skills, with eligibility for U.S. security clearance. Collaborative, cross‑functional work across radar, remote sensing, and AI/ML is expected.

Qualifications

• BS with 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• MS with 3+ years in relevant disciplines.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or other scientific computing languages.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop new algorithms and system concepts for advanced sensing applications.
• Apply mathematics, physics, signal processing, optimization, and computational techniques to real-world problems.
• Model and simulate complex sensing systems and environments.
• Develop and evaluate algorithms using MATLAB, Python, and other tools.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers to translate prototypes into fielded implementations.
• Work in a small, multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and test advanced sensing capabilities.
