Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for current or proposed maritime projects. The role reports to the Estimating Manager and is based at office/shipyard facilities in Portsmouth, VA.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of maritime estimating experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong analytical skills. The position is exempt and salary ranges from $90,000 to $130,000 annually DOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years estimating in maritime industry.
• Ability to analyze financial data and allocate costs.

Responsibilities

• Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications.
• Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates.
• Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates.
• Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
• Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions.
• Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.
• Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.
• Provides training/guidance to less experienced Estimators
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
