Job summary

Lindblad Expeditions is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical and electronic systems across our vessel fleet. The role acts as the shore-side technical lead for electrical matters, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, drydock planning, projects, compliance, and system reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or maritime qualification
  • Experience supporting electrical systems in passenger vessels or similar maritime environments
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and safety practices
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to shipboard engineering teams for electrical system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability.
  • Serve as the primary shore-side escalation point for complex electrical, automation, navigation, and related system issues.
  • Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, drydock work, repairs, and upgrade projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and company SMS requirements.
  • Maintain technical records, support audits and investigations, and report on vessel condition and key risks.
  • Support purchasing, budgeting, vendor coordination, and project execution for assigned vessels.
  • Conduct vessel visits to assess system condition, support troubleshooting, and identify improvement opportunities.
