Mission Underwriting Services is seeking a Senior Marine Underwriter to develop and maintain a profitable marine book within guidance on loss ratios and premium volumes. You will assess risk, underwrite policies, and guide clients and colleagues with expertise in marine underwriting and yacht-related work.

The role emphasizes collaboration with brokers and clients, accurate policy documentation, and proactive risk management.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree; OR 5+ years of experience in Marine underwriting.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Aufgaben

• Collect, review, and analyze an applicant’s history and records.
• Obtain additional information to determine eligibility and pricing.
• Determine level of risk, premium costs, and deductibles.
• Negotiate and define terms of insurance policies with brokers.
• Develop and enforce underwriting rules to maximize productivity.
• Conduct risk assessments from applications, guidelines, and documents.
• Review and underwrite complex policies ensuring compliance.
• Evaluate financial statements and loss history to assess client viability.
• Use guidelines, actuarial data, and market trends to determine pricing.
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to negotiate terms and pricing.
• Prepare and issue accurate policy documents and endorsements.
• Provide risk management recommendations and loss prevention advice.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Mentor junior underwriters and promote professional development.
• Maintain compliance with internal guidelines and best practices
