Job summary

Boater’s World Marine Centers in Lake Placid, FL is hiring experienced Marine Technicians / Outboard Mechanics with 5+ years of hands-on experience to diagnose, repair, and rig boats and propulsion systems. You’ll work on Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki engines and participate in OEM training and certifications.

Relocation assistance nationwide and signing incentives up to $10,000 are available for qualified candidates, with earning potential exceeding $100K for A-Tech and Master-level technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional marine technician experience preferred for A-Tech and Master-level consideration.
• Strong outboard diagnostic and repair experience.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, or other major marine engine manufacturers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, and related marine systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair outboard engines using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance through advanced engine repairs and rebuilds based on experience level.
• Rig new and pre-owned boats for customer delivery.
• Install outboards, electronics, accessories, controls, and other OEM or aftermarket equipment.
• Perform compression tests, diagnostic scans, electrical troubleshooting, and other technical evaluations.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify recommended repairs or maintenance.
• Perform water and lake testing when required to diagnose or verify repairs.
• Accurately document technician findings, repairs performed, parts used, and additional recommendations.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and minimize comebacks by completing repairs correctly the first time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
